Meet the Designer Behind the Studio

I come from a long line of builders, designers, artists, and doers. My Grandma and Great-Grandma Ruth were artists. My Grandpa and Uncles worked in construction. My Dad was both a designer and a contractor. I grew up visiting job sites and flipping through floor plans like storybooks. While other kids were selling lemonade, I was making extra cash drafting electrical and site plans in my dad’s office. I even married a builder. You could say it runs in my blood—and you’d be right.

Of course, I tried to escape it for a while. In my early twenties, I packed up and spent a few months living in France—painting, adventuring, and figuring out who I was. But even there, architecture snuck in and consumed me. I realized I wasn’t running from design—I was running toward it.

I got a Bachelor’s degree from Sacramento State University while working for a local architecture firm throughout college and after graduation. Eventually, I joined my Dad’s business full-time, working alongside him until it was time for him to slow down his practice. Now, I run my own residential design studio based in East Sacramento, helping homeowners bring thoughtful, beautiful homes to life across the region. My work blends creativity with buildability—because growing up in construction taught me that good design isn’t just about how it looks, but how it works.

During the day, I design homes. In the in-between moments, I’m acrylic painting, taking photos, rock climbing, running, snow skiing, surfing, or thrifting—and somewhere in the middle of it all, I’m raising a family and building a life that feels full and real. Just like the homes I help create.
